I look forward to the day when my daughter discusses TV shows she grew up watching.  I can only imagine the dumbfounded looks on the faces of her peers as she describes this awesome show about this sister and twin brother with secret identities constantly fighting against Skeletor, the bad guy in Eternia.  That’s right, She-Ra, Princess of Power and He-Man, although he only appears every once in a while.  Or maybe, they will be in awe as she carefully describes the music videos titled, Conjunction Junction or the other favorite, How a Bill Becomes a Law.

Now, some of you might think that her parents, having grown up with these shows might have subliminally brainwashed our child or even tricked her into watching these in hopes that she would love the 80s as much as we do.  Of course not.  We would NEVER trick our child into doing ANYTHING, like eating broccoli, tomatoes, or bath time.  Seriously, what kind of parents would do that?  OK.  So we have tricked her by challenging her to a race to the bath.  BUT in regards to her love of the 80s, that was ALL on her own.

I mean one of her most watched videos from Sesame Street looks like this –

I mean is it the retro colors?  Or does she just have way cool taste – cooler than I can even comprehend.  She is the one that chose a pink and white striped shirt with a “coordinating” black and pink large print checked leggings (and got compliments).  I guess I should be thankful that our little girl has such exquisite taste.
